TENTH ANNIVERSARY, ART TOWER MITO

On March 22, 1990, Art Tower Mito (ATM) was born as a new "transmission point" for Japan's artistic culture.
ATM has since carried out a broad range of activities, based on the following five basic management principles:

- Creating new artistic culture.
- Carrying out artistic and cultural exchanges from an international viewpoint.
- Having fun while thinking about art.
- Serving as a base for (Mito) citizen's artistic and cultural activities.
- Contributing to the revitalization of Mito City.

ATM supports five in-house performance groups -- the Mito Chamber Orchestra (MCO), the ATM Ensemble, the Mito Quartet, the Mito dell'arco and the Acting Company Mito (ACM) theater troupe. Along with the exhibitions of the Contemporary Art Center, which feature living artists, ATM's distinctive projects have drawn attention from all directions. Many visitors, primarily from Mito City and Ibaraki Prefecture, have come to the ATM complex in the past decade and enjoyed these events, performances, and activities.

This spring, we celebrate the tenth anniversary of Art Tower Mito by holding many special events that display the kind of ingenuity that only ATM can. We deeply appreciate the patronage given to us by so many people to date, and ask for your unflagging support in the years to come.
