First Phase: Japanese Summer 1960-64
"I Don't Give a Damn Anymore!"

This installment of the exhibition covers the period from 1960, when the Neo- Dadaism Organizers were formed, to 1964, when the Yomiuri IndÉpendant Exhibition broke apart. Various art works and materials, including those from regional avant-garde groups, are presented to introduce the trends of the period. As with the second phase of the exhibition, "The World of Shuji TERAYAMA," videos will be shown of actual events in the 1960s, along with recent interviews with major participants in the artistic movements of that period.

Photographs (taken by Hidemasa HOSOE et al.) of Ankoku Butoh performances by the late Tatsumi HIJIKATA will be displayed in the ATM Entrance Hall.

The second phase of the exhibition will be presented by ATM's Drama Department.

Butoh Workshop by Akiko MOTOFUJI "Resonant Body"

Admission included in the entrance fee for the "Japanese Summer 1960-64" Exhibition.
We invite you to participate in the Butoh workshop conducted by Ms. Akiko MOTOSUJI.
The workshop will run for two days on the weekend. It will cost nothing except for the exhibition entrance fee. There are no restrictions as far as age and previous dance/butoh experience are concerned. The number of participants is restricted to 20 people; if more than that number apply, selection will be made by lottery.
