A special focus on the work of Shuji TERAYAMA, whose work in the 1960s transcended the borders of traditional genres.

Second Phase: "The World of Shuji Terayama"

The posters, photographs and objets d'arts of Shuji TERAYAMA are displayed, arranged by the stage artist Nobutaka KOTAKE. As with the first phase, videos will be shown of actual events in the 1960s, along with interviews made recently.
On several Sundays during the second phase of the exhibition, symposia will be held on Shuji TERAYAMA and the 1960s in general.

Mr. Juro KARA has written this work in homage of Shuji TERAYAMA.

This was Shuji TERAYAMA's first dramatic work, produced at that time by Keita ASARI and performed by Gekidan Shiki. At the time of its debut, it was heralded as having opened a new era in the literature of drama.

The Engeki Jikkenshitsu Banyu Inryoku carries on the tradition of Tenjo Sajiki (Ceiling Gallery) in its performance of a Shuji TERAYAMA work.
Note:All tickets for Phase 2 of the "Japanese Art, 1960s" exhibition will go on sale starting on September 6 (Sat).
