Junior High Choral Festival

November 17 (Sat.), 2018

An annual festival held with the purpose of giving as many children as possible the opportunity to perform on stage at Art Tower Mito. Each of the junior high schools of Mito City conducts a choral contest every year, with the winners (classes and/or ensembles) of the competitions then assembling at ATM in the fall to demonstrate their singing abilities before a live audience. The concert is managed by a project committee composed of members selected from students at each of the participating schools. This year, the baritone Ryoichi Shimizu will also be on hand to give constructive comments on the various groups' performances, as well as to demonstrate model performance techniques, giving the students the chance to hone their expressive capacities.
