Percussion Seminar by MCO Members
for Elementary and Junior High School Students

Instructor: Roland Altmann

June 30 (Sat.), 2012, to July 1 (Sun.), 2012

Starting in the current fiscal year, a percussion seminar by an MCO member will be held for elementary and junior high school students in Mito City. This program aims to promote brass bands among Mito’s elementary and junior high students and to boost their performance level, as well as to increase the opportunities for exchange between the MCO and the local community. The first seminar will be led by the instructor Roland Altmann, who has long served as solo timpanist with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, and who has also been a guest performer in MCO concerts since 2010. He will teach the students basic performance techniques, along with ways to create larger band ensembles, as well as the importance of percussion.
