Trio Ink

Trio Ink expands the idea of what a traditional piano trio could be by creative programming and infusing unique performance atmospheres. For over a decade they have performed together in various combinations across five continents. Their first critically acclaimed performance as a piano trio was given at the Sydney Festival 2003, Australia in collaboration with the Mark Morris Dance Group. Their Japan debut took place in 2008 at Symphony Hall and Suntory Hall with Century Orchestra Osaka performing the Beethoven Triple Concerto. Since then, the Trio has performed extensively throughout Japan, Canada and the United States.

Trio Ink is deeply committed to further the advancement of music education. Their productions at Art Tower Mito in 2005 and 2008 juxtaposed visual art and storytelling with a broad range of music to create a unique multimedia experience for the students. Their use of multimedia to stretch the boundaries of the student’s imagination and have them respond to alternative forms of art has received rave reviews.

Violinist Yosuke Kawasaki is currently the Concertmaster of the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Canada. He is also Co-Artist Director of Classical Unbound, a chamber music festival in Prince Edward County, Canada and an adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa School of Music.

Pianist Vadim Serebryany is Assistant Professor of piano at Ithaca College, in New York.

Cellist Wolfram Koessel is a member of the renowned American String Quartet, a faculty member at the Manhattan School of Music and former Music Director for the Mark Morris Dance Group.
