The MCO will have made its first European concert tour in June, touring the five cities of Hamburg, Zurich, Vienna, Ludwigsburg and Florence.
Having thus expanded its horizons, the orchestra is returning triumphantly to Mito for its 33rd regular concert, with a program that conveys all the ardor of the European tour.

Their fresh and bright voices will fill the concert hall.
Duo Seminar for Violin and Piano by Toru Yasunaga and Ayumi Ichino

Tickets will go on sale on July 18 (Sat).
The violinist Toru Yasunaga and the pianist Ayumi Ichino join forces again this year to teach a seminar on the sonata form and other musical techniques.
Not only do they teach about performance techniques, they aim to bring out the unique musical sense of each individual student when training musical expression.
A reception will be held on August 8 (Sat) allowing participants to get to know Mr. Yasunaga, Ms. Ichino and other musical leaders.
The following day, August 9 (Sun), will feature a recital of seminar participants demonstrating what they have learned.

Every December the ATM complex is brilliantly lit up for several weeks during the "Starlight Fantasy" festival.
To help raise funds for it, a sextet composed of three MCO (Mito Chamber Orchestra) members and their friends presents a concert.
They will only perform one night, so make sure you don't miss it.
The entire proceeds from the concert go to the committee organizing the festival.
Mito-shi Geijutsu-sai Mito Junior Orchestra Concert (Mito Art Festival)

Tickets will go on sale on July 7 (Tue).
The Mito Junior Orchestra is made up of students from the Mito area, ranging from elementary school to college.
Although they have performed before elsewhere, this is the first time they have played at ATM Concert Hall.
We look forward to hearing them here.
Freak Out Music - Ensemble Modern Pre-performance Workshop
August 22 (Sat) / 29 (Sat) 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
ATM Conference Hall
Before their September 8 concert, the Ensemble Modern will present a pre-performance workshop on two different Saturdays.
Videos owned by the ensemble will be shown to introduce the contemporary music scene in its entirety,
transcending the borders that divide the genres of modern music, rock, and jazz.
Admission, while free, is limited to those purchasing tickets to the concert.

Between pieces, the conductor and ensemble members will discuss the music, primarily the works by Varese and Nancarrow.
Pipe Organ Promenade Concerts
Organ concerts are given in the Entrance Hall ATM on Saturdays at 1:30 p.m.
and 3:00 p.m., and Sundays at 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Each concert will
last approximately 20 minutes. On days when other ATM concerts or performances
are scheduled, the Pipe Organ Promenade Concert may be rescheduled or canceled.
Admission is free.
Notice: Sale of Student Tickets
When tickets remain unsold on the day of a performance, students with valid
IDs can purchase them at a discount within one hour of the starting time.
