John Cage's Auditorium "A Poultry Farm and a Sound Artist"

This exhibition was planned by John Cage before his death and was realized mostly by the effort of Julie Lazar, Curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
It consisted of four parts: "John Cage Gallery," pictures and scores by John Cage's own hand; "Circus Gallery," works by his favorite artists, which, according to directions of a computer, were frequently replaced during the period of exhibition; "Museum Circus," works lent by museums in Ibaraki Prefecture (Mito City Museum, Yuki Dyeing Museum, The Hitachi City Local Museum, Hitachiota Local Museum, Tone Historical & Cultural Museum, Tsuchiura City Museum, Tokugawa Museum, The Joyo Geibun Center, Kasama Nichido Museum of Art, Oharai Museum, Ibaraki Atomic Energy Exhibition Center, and the Museum of Modern Art, Ibaraki); and "Auditorium," varieties of events without prior announcement.
The exhibition started at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles in September 1993 and then toured to the Menil Collection, the Guggenheim Museum, Art Tower Mito and the Philadelphia Museum od Art.
