A solo exhibition by Magdalena Abakanowicz, a woman artist born in Poland in 1930.
Abakanowicz attained her peculiar style with a woven magical piece. "Abakan," attracting worldwide attention. In the 1970s, she produced one of her major works, a series titled "Alterations" which directly or figuratively represented human beings under severe conditions or as living organism. Groups of headless, limbless bodies are especially notable in the series. Including installations in the 1980s, such as "Backs" and "Embryology," the exhibition presented her major achievements until 1990, the year of the production of "War Games," according to her own plan.
