[Background]
Sofia Boys Choir is the first boys' choir in Bulgaria, founded back in 1968. The repertoire of the choir ranges from Bulgarian music, Orthodox church music as well as different musical styles by foreign composers from the 14th century to the present day.
The choir has received awards at many prestigious international competitions like Guido d'Arezzo International Choir Competition(1993), International May Choir Competitions Varna(1997),Guiseppe Zelioli International Choral Competition of Sacred Music, Italy(1997), International Choral Competition ,Switzerland(1999),First International Folk Choir Competition for Male Choirs in Italy(2000), Orlando di Lasso International Choir Competition, Italy(2003), International choral competition "Moscow Sound"(2012), as well as many Bulgarian awards and honours. The choir has been engaged in various recordings and concerts with other ensembles and orchestras.

[General structure of the ensemble]
Children from various schools in Sofia between the ages of 8 and 15 years sing in the Sofia Boys Choir. They pass through various groups:preparatory, internship and concerting group. On November 1997 a Youth Formation consisting solely of former members of the boys choir was established. Thus, three concert formations took shape within the ensemble - boys, youth and mixed.
