A concert featuring the saxophonist, Kohei Ueno (b. 1992 in Tokai Village, Ibaraki Prefecture), whose extraordinary musicality has been a hot topic of conversation ever since he became the youngest person ever to win the grand prize and top special prize in the saxophone division of the Japan Wind and Percussion Competition, as well as second place in the Adolph Sax International Competition in 2014, among other awards. Backed by the pianist Atsushi Yamanaka, he will display his distinguished expressive capabilities to the audience through a performance of several famous classical pieces, including Schumann’s “Three Romances” and Bizet’s “Carmen Fantasy,” the latter weaving together several well-known scenes from the opera “Carmen”.
