The broad repertoire of string quartet music has been described by some as capturing the essence of classical music. The Quartet Premium Series is a newly-launched project at Art Tower Mito aiming to enable audiences in Mito to hear performances of pieces from that profound world by some of the most eminent string quartet ensembles of our time. The first ensemble to be invited in the series is the Hagen Quartet, founded in 1981 by four siblings, and which has since continued to lead the string quartet world. Come enjoy their performances—renowned for representing the pinnacle of maturity—of such masterpieces as Franz Schubert’s “Rosamunde.” Incidentally, this will be the third time that the Hagen Quartet has been invited to perform at ATM, its previous appearances having taken place in 1997 and 2008.
