The first collaboration between ATM’s ACM Theatre and the stage production company Priere features upbeat, playful readings of the novel “Cocoa on Thursday,” delivered by veteran actors Morio Kazama and Mami Kumagai. Bringing tears to readers’ eyes through its depictions of the warm ties between people, the story is characterized by the sense of time drifting gently along, filled with a modest spirit of happiness, as it describes how the little discoveries in our daily lives can make us more positive and forward-looking, and how human beings help each other without realizing it. The two actors, who know each other extremely well, instill happiness in everyone in the audience.
