Rokyoku (Naniwabushi) is a traditional Japanese style of narrative singing with accompaniment on a shamisen. Over a three-year period, Takeharu Kunimoto (b. 1960) has been busy creating an original rokyoku work specifically for ACM Theatre, entitled the “Mito Komon Manyuki (Mito Komon Travel Sketches)” series; this year represents the third and final installment of the work. Old people and young people alike ought to be highly entertained by the upcoming performance.
