"Umibe-no Tetsudo-no Hanashi" (Story of the Seaside Railway)
A performance of an original work modeled after a local train line named Hitachinaka Seaside Railway, which has gained recognition across the country thanks to the popularity of Ibaraki Prefecture's national Hitachi Seaside Park, located on a 350-hectare site facing the Pacific Ocean in a "unique natural environment of sand dunes, forests, grassland and springs," according to its Web site. The writer and producer of the play is Roba Shimori, a rising figure in the Japanese theatrical world, especially after she won the New Face Award of the Minister of Education Award for Fine Arts in March 2018.
